A California native who honed her fashion skills in New York, Yumi Kim designer Kim Phan knows a thing or two about versatile dressing. Phan opened her flagship in New York’s hipster Mecca the Lower East Side in 2008 where she sold her own creations alongside real vintage finds. Her brand has grown exponentially since then but she’s stuck to her original aesthetic, creating clothing in vintage inspired prints reminiscent of eras past: the mini florals of the Great Depression (yeah, the 30s were stylin’ despite lacking food), the bright flowers of the “Mad Men” age, and the 70s look celebustylist Rachel Zoe has dressed all her star clients in.
